Information we process

Accounts use an Apple sign-in identifier or an OpoChat username and password. Passwords are stored as salted password hashes. We keep account IDs, purchased and gifted allowances, transaction identifiers, usage duration and administrative operation records to provide and verify your benefits.

Local translation and camera recognition run on the device when supported. If you choose an AI feature, the audio, text or image needed for that feature is sent to our server and relevant cloud processing providers. AI features require a network connection. Live audio uploads pause during manual translation playback. Translation history may be stored on your device and can be cleared in the App.

Website privacy

The website uses an essential HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite cookie to keep you signed in for up to 7 days. It does not store the login token in browser local storage. Website translation and photo recognition require uploading text or images; microphone audio is sent only during a session you start. Translation history and favorites stay in this browser, separately for each account, for 7, 30 or 90 days (default 30; up to 200 entries). They do not sync across devices. Account recovery codes are shown once; only a hash is stored by the server. Password reset revokes existing sessions and rotates the recovery code.

Use and retention

We use this information to translate, authenticate accounts, synchronize purchases, manage allowances, prevent abuse and resolve support issues. We do not sell personal information or use speech or photos for advertising. Runtime logs can include error codes, processing status and usage measurements. Cloud providers process requests under their service terms and retention practices.

Account deletion

In the account screen, choose Delete account to remove account login access and credentials. Remaining benefits become unavailable. Financial and security records may be retained where necessary for refunds, fraud prevention and legal obligations. Apple subscriptions must be cancelled separately in your Apple account. For access, correction or deletion requests, contact [email protected] and provide your OpoChat user ID; do not send passwords.

Security and choices

Public connections use HTTPS. Administrator access is protected separately. Microphone and camera permission can be withdrawn in device settings. You can use supported local Text and Camera functions without uploading content. Translation may be inaccurate; verify information before relying on it for important decisions.
